131 vehicles at the start of the first training
Everything is set in Ilirska Bistrica for the start of this year's penultimate European Championship in mountain speed race. Technical inspections were passed by 131 racing cars, which at 11 am will drive to the start of the first official training. The course is excellently prepared and the first groups of spectators have already taken their places at the most attractive spots towards Šembije.
Some racers came to the verification and technical inspection this morning, all the others went through the formalities already yesterday. There are 131 names at the start list for Saturday's first training, including all the favourites of the competition. The course is excellently prepared and looks like a real race track, and even the weather forecast for today is favourable. As we are already used to in Ilirska Bistrica, today's and tomorrow's runs will occur in two groups. The first group, which will be started first by the pre-drivers, followed by vintage cars, will be ready on the course at 11 am. The second training today will start an hour after the arrival of the last racing car back to the service area.
Six vintage cars are ready in the category punctuality and 24 in the category sports, whereas others are modern racing cars. The last to go on the course will be the prototype formulas and there are 26 of them on the starting list. Among them are also the main favourites, such as Vladimir Stankovič, Milan Beneš, Fausto Bormolini and Renzo Napione. The 18th race in Ilirska Bistrica may begin!
