Vaclav Janik winner of Hill Climb Gorjanci 2014

Hill Climb Race Gorjanci 2014 was held in beautiful sunny weather. Lots of spectators gathered around along the course. According to the organizers...Event finished without any major accidents. There were only a few interruptions in the first run, after officials had to clean the road because of spilled oil. Czech Vaclav Janik (Lola B02/50), who repeated success from 2012 and won Hill Climb Race Gorjanci for the second time. Janik had the fastest time in all three runs and won with ease ahead of his compatriot Jiri Svoboda (Norma M20F), in third place ended Hungarian Laszlo Szasz (Reynard Zytek), who is competing under Croatian flag. Before the start of the race Janik left the role of favourite to Svoboda, as he had some problems with electronics after yesterday's training runs. Best local driver Vladimir Stankovič finished in 5th place and saved the honour for Slovenia.

Italian Uberto Bonucci (Osella PA 9/90) won in FIA Historic Hill Climb Championship classification in front of Czech Jiri Kubicki (Škoda 130 RS) and Austrian Harald Moessler (Steyr Puch Bergspyder). Hill Climb Gorjanci 2014 had a strong competition with 117 vehicles. Racers have presented many daring rides, competition also impressed FIA observers who assessed Hill Climb Gorjanci if it will be able to organize Hill Climb race at the highest level in the future - European Hill Climb Championship.
